Jim Gilstrap - Move Me. Today’s selection comes from one of the greatest behind-the-scenes vocalists of the Northern Soul era. From backing Stevie Wonder to the reels of Grease, Gilstrap is a prominent industry name, even if he isn’t known far beyond that. “Move Me” comes from his less popular sophomore album Love Talk. Unable to capitalize on the semi-successful Swing Your Daddy two years earlier, Love Talk consists of only four songs where “Move Me” is the definite marquee. It doesn’t get much sweeter than this.

As an aside, this song was sampled in Big L’s posthumously released “Flamboyant.”
