The album itself is a grab bag of Philly soul to Southern-fried-chicken-wing funk, but to me this song says everything about the four man ensemble. Part cry for help, part sagely advice, “Keeping Up My Front” says something to everyone who puts nothing before pride. And it does this all without sacrificing its carefree, summer cookout attitude.
